The babies are almost 4 weeks old and how they are growing! They have started to eat soft puppy food and goat’s milk with varying degrees of interest. Last night my girlfriend Christa and I dressed the little boys as devils and the girls as pumpkins. They were great sports and enjoyed some extra attention. We love this stage as the puppies get to be alot of fun!

Well the puppies are growing and continuing to thrive. Today we are starting to see if they have an interest in puppy food but so far little interest. Likely by the weekend we will have more enthusiasm for the new food source but in the meantime Keely will continue to nurse and keep them content. They are starting to play with each other and we hear little barks from time to time:)

We have one available puppy from Keely’s litter. It will be a male so if anyone is interested please let us know. These puppies will be going home at the end of November.

Well we have made it through the first week with the new babies. It has been hectic but they are doing great.
Keely is a canine milking machine and all the puppies are growing. At this point they range from 10 oz to slightly over one pound.

Keely is a fabulous first time mom and I couldn’t be more pleased. She spent about 99% of her time caring for her litter with short trips to the bathroom and to eat a high calorie meal. The puppies are doing well and we will update photos when we can.

I am pleased and surprised to report that Keely gave birth to 8 babies – 5 boys and 3 girls. We were up all night and Keely started to deliver at 0715. I will post photos as soon as I can.

We are on the final few days until Keely has her babies. I have been busy checking her temperature, preparing the whelping supplies and answering calls from my girlfriends with the usual question – Is anything happening yet?
Keely is more active today, still eating alot but her temperature has not taken the big drop which indicates puppies in the next 24 hours. We sure can’t wait to meet these babies. Maddie will sadly lose her best friend for the next 8 weeks as Keely raises her litter. Maddie adores Keely so I have been preparing Darren to be her new BFF.
