The puppies are starting to take to lapping the goats milk/puppy food smooothie. In the past day we are starting to see them being alot more playful with each other but they get tired quick and have to have a nap. They range in size from 2 lb 6 oz to 3 lbs 12 oz. but we will see what happens as they start to supplement with the puppy food.

The puppies will be three weeks tomorrow. Time is going by so quickly. They look cuter by the day and are starting to be playful puppies. Tomorrow I will start giving them goat’s milk and wellness canned puppy food. I blend it in the Magic Bullet and the puppies take to it very well. Avalon will continue to nurse for at least three more weeks but this gives them added nutrition and takes some of the the demand from Avalon.

I realized I put the wrong photo of chocolate curly girl. This one shows her cute face much better!

The puppies are two weeks old now. Most have their eyes open. We will be moving them out of our bedroom and down to the main living area in a day or two.

Some of the puppies eyes are starting to open. In the next couple of days I am sure that they will all be open. I will update all of the photos then. They no longer need Avalon to stimulate them to go to relieve themselves so nowthe cleanup begins!

The first weeks with the puppies are usually quiet for us. Avalon is an experienced mom so needs little help from us. I primarily take care of her to make sure she remains healthy and eats well. She has a great appetite and although she is nursing alot her weight is stable. The babies have all doubled their weight which is what I had hoped for. They are sleeping quietly and contently until Avalon wake them to nurse and then they scramble for a good position. At this point Avalon licks them to stimulate them to go to the bathroom and keeps them clean so I just change their bedding, make sure they are warm and weigh them daily.
Keely loves them too and can’t wait for them to grow up so she can play with them. She was a great aunty for the last litter!

Darice and Marty from Puppy Love Labradoodles stopped by to see the babies yesterday. For those of you who do not know they are Xston’s family. Darice is a wealth of knowledge regarding all things labradoodle. We discussed the puppy colors and she suspects that the girl I refer to as cream girl is actually a white parti who may not develop markings. Again I am surprised to see Avalon have three parti in one litter. Avalon’s sire Frenchie carried the parti gene. Partis have become very popular.
I also spoke to Kyla at Puppy Heaven Labradoodles. Avalon’s full sister is bred to Xston for a litter of chocolate babies. She still has a few spaces available so if anyone is looking for a chocolate I would strongly recommend this litter.

The puppies are doing great. They are sleeping most of the time which is a great indication of content babies. Avalon spends all of her time with them and needs alot of encouragement to leave them for even 5 minutes. I have music and aromatherapy going for her and she has been getting alot of special meals and snacks that make Darren envious. When I uploaded the photos I made an error and called the one girl apricot when she is abviously an apricot parti. I don’t know how to fix the photos

We have three chocolate/white puppies, two cream, one apricot and a parti. I was quite surprised not to get more black as our last litter produced three black and one black parti. I was pleased to see the nice markings on the chocolate puppies.
